Ignatieff Campaign Takes High Road

After Michael Ignatieff accused the Israeli military of war crimes in front of 2 million TV viewers, his campaign decided it was worth their time to ask me to play nice.

Stranger still, is why anyone would take the time to complain about my blog to the Micheal Ignatieff campaign. My humble blog gets about 150 visitors a day, many just to see their pro-Kennedy comments!

These letters appear to be legit. If they are fake, I give bonus points for using the expression "Pyrrhic victory", which I had to look up.

We've been getting a fair amount of feedback regarding your blog and the recent attacks on Gerard Kennedy.

We ask all of Michael's supporters to remain civil on blogosphere. Its critical to party unity that we not make attacks personal. Criticisms of policy positions and/or strategic direction are fair game.

You are obviously free to say whatever you please. But if you really are an Ignatieff supporter, I am sure you will understand our concerns regarding your posts.

Many thanks and best wishes on this holiday Monday.

This isn't a policy convention! This is to decide a leader. It's all about the person! I disagree with many of the so called policies and "strategic directions" of Micheal Ignatieff (War, torture, nothing about EI, etc...), but I think he is competent.

Remember Good Character Bill Clinton? Russian speaking Kim Campbell? Now is the time to be aggressive and vet out the candidates. Skeletons won't come out voluntarily.

I not only disagree with the policies of Kennedy, but I think he is incompetent. His web site incorrectly implies he started a food bank in Edmonton ("Canada's first food bank"). Nobody seems to know how he got that job (was he a customer?). He dropped out of university. He didn't accomplish much of anything as Education Minister. His website tells us he managed a huge budget, but that is bending the truth as school boards run the education system in Ontario. I could go on and on.

The Toronto Star calls Kennedy supporters "cult like". They are very aggressive on the Internet with instant comments on any Kennedy criticism, comment spam and Adsence adds. Please take any feedback you get from these people with a major grain of salt.

Seems like you're not really an ignatieff supporter.

Sorry for the poke.

Chris, (who is Chris?)
We've been getting quite a lot of emails reagarding your posts about Gerard Kennedy.
I know Brad Davis has already contacted you and has asked that you keep the tone civil. No one wants the next leader to have won a Pyrrhic victory in this campaign, with the party so riven by discord and animosity that we are too busy fighting ourselves to fight the Conservatives.
You are obviously free to write what you want, but I ask you to consider these thoughts.
All the best,

You should take their advice to heart. Your real enemy is Harper, not the rest of the leadership candidates.

I understand why they would contact you. You have embarassed the Ignatieff campaign, yet you don't speak for it. I have never blamed the Ignatieff campaign for your nonsense, but I have to give them credit for telling you to shut your pie hole.

Yea. Ya heard Kyle. Shut your hole.

Iggy's team has been embarrased more by their own candidate than by this guy.

In any case, its interesting that the bigwigs are taking notice of you. Congrats.
